L’Orangerie: History,
Luxury and Privacy

A perfect retreat from the bustle of modern life

Whether you’re enjoying a spectacular sunrise and coffee by our heated pool or taking in the view of the magnificent Chateau, L’Orangerie is the perfect retreat from busy modern life.

The villa’s pale walls and stripped floors combine a calm aesthetic with mid-century furniture, French antiques, curated artwork and boutique luxury.

Six ensuite bedrooms, with stunning views over the Dropt Valley, provide sound sleep and a spectacular start to your day.  Roomy interiors and a choice of terraces (and kitchens!) provide plenty of space  for you to read, practice or chill out in peace.

Our retreat for May 2023 pairs Nicolle Croft’s wine expertise with celebrity chef Yann Florio, and offers a unique taste of French food and insider tours of Bordeaux’s wine regions.

Yann Florio & Nicolle Croft:
Bordeaux Food & Wine Retreat

The ideal Spring retreat for all lovers of fine food and wine, in the beautiful countryside of Duras (near St Emilion).

Hosted by wine expert Nicolle Croft (co-founder of winesearcher.com) and Yann Florio, (Masterchef Finalist and award-winning chef at Corrigans, Mayfair) our retreat combines gastronomical expertise and local insider knowledge to provide an unforgettable experience of the region’s finest food and wines. Enjoy dishes created with local seasonal produce and two spectacular wine paired meals featuring his cuisine and the finest local wines, selected by Nicolle.

Yann Florio, third-generation French chef, renowned for his creativity and originality, will share, over several masterclasses, tips for creating French cuisine with a modern twist. He will inspire us using traditional local ingredients – freshwater fish, organic steak smoked on vine cuttings, and enticing ways to prepare regional heirloom vegetables.

Nicolle will marry Yann’s creative dishes with the region’s best wines (and explain what makes and breaks the perfect wine and food match) so we learn to get it right each time. She will also guide you on two tours, exploring both of Bordeaux’s principal wine regions; the Right Bank Saint Emilion/Pomerol and the Left Bank Pessac Leognan, Graves and Sauternes, where you will visit some of the most prestigious properties as well as key small producers. She will introduce you to the winemakers onsite, giving you an inside perspective on one of the world’s most famous wine regions.

Dates: Sun 7 – Fri 12 May 2023
